Get The Look- Neutral Eye

Start by prepping the eyelids with an eyeshadow primer. Priming the eyelids before applying eyeshadow helps make eyeshadow go on smoother, stay in place, helps prevent a crease and gives your eyes a kind of clean canvas.  I absolutely love Urban Decay’s Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Eden.  (Ulta, 22.00) Allow primer to set for about a minute before applying eyeshadow.  Now that you have a clean canvas start with your lightest neutral shade for a base.  For this look I used a creamy vanilla color from MAC called Blanc Type (MAC, 16.00) With a brush apply the powder all over the eyelid from the lash line all the way up to the eyebrows. Blend gently into your lids to ensure there are no visible lines.  Begin contouring the eyelid by using a light soft brown color.  I am in love with the Urban Decay’s Naked pallets and one of my favorite colors from this collection is Buck.  With a crease defining brush blend the color up and out along your crease toward the outer corner of the eye along the edge where your brow bone begins.  Once you have your color in place make sure to blend blend blend with circular motions to ensure you have no lines. For more contour and depth add another more rich brown color.  Here I’ve use Bobbi Brown’s Eyeshadow in Cocoa (Bobbi Brown, 26.00) Apply this color to the crease, following the same line as you did for the lighter brown color but don’t take this color as high on the crease. Then blend blend blend with a circular motion to create a flawless fusion of your two contour colors.  The key to picture-perfect eyeshadows is in the blending so purchasing a good blending brush is highly recommended! My favorite is MAC’s #224 Tapered Blending Brush (Nordstroms, 32.00)Once your shadows are blended add some liner to define the eyes. Here I’ve used a deep coffee color by Bobbi Brown’s Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Sepia Ink. (Bobbie Brown, 27.00) With a liner brush apply the liner from the inside corner of your lash line to the outside corner. To soften the line use a smudge brush and lightly smudge the darkest brown color used in contouring the eyelids and gently swipe it over your liner.  Top this look off with your favorite mascara or for a bit more vavoom add some false lashes! Pair these beautiful eyes with this season’s trendy plum lip color like this one from Stila’s Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick in Amore (Stila, 22.00)
