The winter months can be tough on skin and lips so make sure to moisturize but if you find your lips are extra dry try using an exfoliator to remove the dry skin followed with a good lip balm. I’m in love with the lip scrub by Bite Beauty in Whipped Cherry that doubles as an exfoliant and lip balm. (Sephora, 18.00)Prime lips with a lip primer. This helps lip color go on smoother and last longer. Typically I apply it with my finger tips and gently cover my lips. You can use a primer like MAC Prep -N- Prime Lip (Nordstrom, 17.50) or something as easy as your foundation. Just allow it to dry before applying your lip color.Next outline the lips with a lip pencil that matches the shade of lipstick are wearing. Using a lip pencil adds definition to your lips, helps prolong the wear of your lip color and keeps the color from “bleeding” or “feathering” by locking the color in place within your lip line. For this look I used MAC Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in the color More to Love (Nordstrom, 21.00)Sharpen your pencil for an even, precise line. Start with an X-shape on your cupids bow then softly follow the natural lines of your lips. Be extra soft on the corners to avoid creating a look that is too harsh. Finally apply your lipstick or lip gloss. For this look I used Makeup Forever’s Aqua Rouge LiquidLip Color in Pomegranate Pink (Sephora, 24.00)Balance this bold fabulous lip color with neutral eyeshadow look, a little bronzer and highlight!
